InstallationWater connectionsThe heat pump must be installed between the filter discharge and the pool return line, and as closely as possible to the pump and the electrical circuit in order to minimize the connections costs. Moreover the use of 90° angles and small radius angles should be kept to a minimum. The unit must be connected to a dedicated circuit. ![]() Although not essential for the functioning of the unit, the installation of a system of service and derivation valves is highly recommended (see above). This installation will allow for more flexibility during maintenance and during winterizing, and will also protect the heat exchanger from erosion and corrosion. If an automatic sanitizer system (chlorine, bromine) is integrated to the filtration system, an insulated check valve must be installed, on the intake, on the circuit. The check valve in the automatic sanitizing unit is notacceptable. The use of check valves will prevent the premature corrosion of the pool heater's internal elements. Note: In areas where the temperature can drop to below 12°C (50°F) during the swimming season the use of a three-way valve or a system of by-pass is required. WARNING: It is extremely important that the automatic sanitizer system is installed downstream from all the heating and water purification accessories. Any noncompliant installation of any such equipment will void the manufacturer's warranty. The heat pump unit features an easy installation method for the water connections to the pool plumbing system, this can be done by the skilled user or a skilled handyman. Note: the use of 1 ½" inside diameter flexible hoses or pipes, tightened by stainless steel pipes are recommended.
